This website is a result of the “Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines” under the “National Digital Archives Program” planned by the Academia Sinica.The “Digital Archives of Formosan Aborigines” is based on the Formosan Aboriginal cultural relics, literature, and audio-video information archived by the Museum, Library, and researchers of the Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica. The various kinds of information are digitalized and archived. Databases and search mechanism are constructed to provide researchers, educators and the general public the convenience when researching, teaching and exchanging information. The database includes 14 categories of information: biliography, cultural relics, contracts, tables, research maps, images, video, music, voice recordings, population, settlements, research talents, multimedia publications and the aboriginal documents of Ch’ing dynasty preserved in the National Palace Museum. Through this website, we hope to promote mutual understanding and respect among different cultural groups. We also hope to achieve the exchange and preservation of different cultures.
